The Opportunity

We are currently working with one of the UK's rapidly growing Independent Connection Providers who are looking for a technical grid expert across a growing portfolio; approximately £100m of major projects and is actively pricing a significant volume of additional work.

As part of the growth, the business is looking to bring additional technical expertise to support both the projects it is delivering today and the increasingly complex work it intends to secure in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical input during tendering and pre-construction to ensure new work is correctly scoped and priced.
  • Support Project Managers with complex grid-related technical matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpret client, DNO and transmission network technical requirements.
  • Review drawings, designs, specifications and connection requirements and advise teams on the appropriate technical approach.
  • Work closely with designers and engineering partners to ensure solutions meet applicable network requirements.
  • Identify grid connection risks, technical constraints and compliance requirements at an early stage.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background within UK Grid Connections / Power Networks.
  • Demonstrable experience across DNO and/or transmission-connected infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of UK grid connection and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret network requirements, electrical designs, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience providing technical input into tenders / pre-construction would also be valuable.
  • Comfortable acting as a technical specialist across multiple projects simultaneously.

Contract Details:

  • Initial 12-Month Contract with a high likelihood of extension
  • Full-Time Assignment
  • Predominantly Home Based
  • Limited UK Travel for project, site and client meetings
  • Strong potential for long-term extension as the technical function and transmission capability develops
