Role: Senior Mechanical Planner / CAD Specialist – Utility-Scale Solar PV

Location: Remote, Germany (Fluent German Required)

Backed by a strong project pipeline totalling 200MW+ in the next 12 months, they are building out their in-house engineering function to support high-quality delivery.

The Role


As a Senior Mechanical Planner / CAD Specialist, you’ll take the lead on layout and mechanical design for utility-scale PV projects. Working remotely, you’ll produce detailed construction drawings and Bills of Materials using PVcase, supporting up to three projects at once. You’ll work closely with construction and procurement teams to optimise designs and ensure technical compliance from planning to execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Create layout plans, string designs, and mechanical drawings using PVcase
  • Generate accurate Bills of Materials for execution teams
  • Deliver complete drawing sets and documentation for multiple projects
  • Optimise string configurations and component placement
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all designs meet safety, structural, and technical standards

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • 3+ years’ experience in utility-scale Solar PV planning
  • Proficiency in PVcase or similar CAD-based design tools
  • Fluent in German (C1) and English
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong planning skills
  • Degree in Renewable Energy or Engineering is a bonus, not essential
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, open-minded approach

If so, we have the position for you!  The Company:A mid-sized Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) with 3GW+ of installed capacity across Europe. As the portfolio expands, so does its ambition to drive to becoming a utility operator. As part of ongoing investment into high focus markets and also to underpinning capital to take on the increased risk of prop trading, they are looking to secure a Senior/Principal Portfolio Manager to join their high performing Energy Management team and set up their dynamic Portfolio Management function. The Role:As Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for developing & leading the group’s Portfolio Management strategy within Germany and then across Europe.
