HVDC Quality Engineer - Onshore HVDC Project - Stafford, England, UK - £Excellent Day Rate - 12 Month Contract - May Start Date - Inside IR35 - 45 Hours P/W - Hybrid RoleI’m currently supporting a leading global OEM on the delivery of a major onshore HVDC transmission project, and we’re looking to bring in an experienced Project Quality Engineer to play a key role across the full EPC lifecycle.This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a flagship infrastructure project driving grid reinforcement and renewable energy integration.The Role:As Project Quality Engineer, you’ll be at the centre of quality delivery - ensuring that engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You’ll act as a key interface between contractors, suppliers, site teams, and project leadership, helping to embed a strong and proactive quality culture throughout.Responsibilities:Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, ITPs, and project-specific procedures in line with EPC requirementsOversee QA/QC across HV equipment, converter stations, civil works, mechanical installations, and control & protection systemsConduct supplier and subcontractor audits to ensure compliance with quality and contractual obligationsLead NCR processes, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actionsDrive a structured Lessons Learned programme across all project phasesSupport FATs, SATs, inspections, and commissioning activities with full documentation and traceabilityCollaborate across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to embed quality throughout deliveryMonitor and report on quality KPIs, risks, and continuous improvement initiativesRequirements:Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering disciplineStrong experience in quality engineering on large, complex, safety-critical projectsSolid understanding of EPC quality frameworks and ISO 9001 (HVDC/IEC experience beneficial)Proven track record in NCR management, supplier quality, and root cause analysisAbility to influence multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvementStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsInterested? Senior Portfolio Manager (Energy Markets) – Renewables - GermanyAre you an experienced portfolio manager with strong experience in Portfolio Management with a focus on large-scale renewable energy projects in Germany? Are you experienced in looking out along the curve and also in prop trading? Are you excited by the prospect of helping an IPP to develop & drive its strategy to have a more sophisticated heading & trading strategy? If so, we have the position for you!  The Company:A mid-sized Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) with 3GW+ of installed capacity across Europe. As the portfolio expands, so does its ambition to drive to becoming a utility operator. As part of ongoing investment into high focus markets and also to underpinning capital to take on the increased risk of prop trading, they are looking to secure a Senior/Principal Portfolio Manager to join their high performing Energy Management team and set up their dynamic Portfolio Management function. The Role:As Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for developing & leading the group’s Portfolio Management strategy within Germany and then across Europe. Some duties will include:•            Help the company to take a more utility-style approach with prop trading and working along the curve•            Work closely with executive leadership in defining and executing the business's 3 to 5 year energy markets strategy•            Develop & implement the Portfolio Management strategy for a European wide portfolio of renewable assets, including the creation of a wider/more structured portfolio management function•            Coordinate activities for trading, hedging, and collaborating with PPA teams.•            Work directly with PPA teams to effectively price & structure contracts into the long term•            Work directly with trading teams & 3rd party trading partners to execute the hedging and prop trading strategy•            Mentor and lead a high performing team •            Build an effective reporting function including presenting portfolio updates to senior leadershipThe Person:The successful candidate will likely have:•            3+ years experience in Trading, Portfolio Management, or PPA Origination•            A strong commercial acumen with proven experience driving value into your organisation’s energy markets team•            Be able to solve complex problems, engage, lead, motivate, and inspire teams to success•            Speak English, German would be beneficial as would other European languagesDue to the dynamic growth of the business, your progression opportunities will be limited only by your desire to succeed, with a real opportunity to take on a managerial role in the Medium Term. If you are looking for a broad and challenging role with prospects to match, make your application without delay.For more information and a confidential career discussion, please contact:david.cottam@hunterphilips.com
